CASA Psychological Services has provided training to graduate students in psychology, offering both practicum placements and predoctoral internships, for over 30 years, in addition to offering supervision to provisional psychologists for approximately 20 years.
Who are we?
We are a group of passionate psychologists deeply committed to our work, including providing training and supervision. Our team has extensive experience in supervision and training. Dr. Chartier, founder of our practice, is Professor Emeritus of Psychology at St. Thomas More College, University of Saskatchewan and has dedicated a significant portion of his career to training psychologists and other mental health care providers. He has emphasized training as part of the development of the practice since its inception. Dr. Shimp, our practice co-owner, shares this commitment to training, having taught graduate level courses in psychotherapy and having been involved in training graduate students for over two decades. Our senior associates, Dr. Rojas and Dr. Cornelius, have also played vital roles in training at the practice, particularly in offering training across the lifespan. We also have other part-time registered psychologists with a diverse knowledge base and skill set, who are available to provide additional supervision and consultation as needed.

Training Model
Our training environment is supportive and is guided by a developmental model. We foster a culture of excellence with a focus on ethical and evidence-based practice that meets the needs of the very diverse community we serve. Our mission is to equip students and provisional psychologists with the skills needed to facilitate substantial and enduring changes in the lives of their clients.
Training Site
Our practice is conveniently located in a two-story building on College Drive, directly across from the University of Saskatchewan and the Royal University Hospital. We offer comprehensive administrative support, clinic management software for appointments and billings, electronic filing, and remote access to our server. Our extensive book and psychological test library includes a broad array of reference materials and measures for children, adolescents and adults.
We have a dedicated administrative team, consisting of two full-time administrative staff, two part time receptionists, and an office manager, which ensures that our practicum students and residents can concentrate on their primary tasks of learning and delivering psychological services to clients.
