Child Assessments

An assessment can play a crucial role in diagnosing and planning treatment for your child, while also facilitating access to educational, community, and financial resources to help your child thrive. At CASA, we offer neurodevelopmental and mental health assessments for a range of conditions including:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Intellectual Developmental Disorder (IDD)
  • Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)
  • Mood Disorders
  • Anxiety Disorders
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

Common concerns indicating the need for an assessment:

  • trouble making and keeping friends
  • struggling to complete schoolwork or learn new information
  • difficulty keeping up with their peers at school or home
  • difficulty paying attention or finishing tasks
  • constant worrying
  • big emotions that are difficult to control
  • aggressive behaviour towards self or others

Although each assessment varies, our comprehensive assessments typically involve interviews with caregivers, observation of the child, questionnaires that assess emotions and behaviours, standardized testing to evaluate cognitive, educational, and executive function skills, and  review of background information. Assessments typically involve between 3 and 6 hours with the child and caregivers, in addition to time scoring and interpreting testing, and reviewing background information, culminating in a detailed report.

The cost of our assessments typically range between $3500 and $4250, with potential insurance coverage available through extended health plans. We encourage you to contact your insurer to explore available coverage options. For further inquiries or to schedule an assessment for your child, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our office.
